The City has been notified that starting mid/late August, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is planning to repair and resurface Broad and Elm Streets from the area of Washington Street south to the area of Stark Street. This work is scheduled to occur nightly from 8pm to 7am. It is important to note that these roadways are state highways, and maintenance is solely at the discretion and control of GDOT. This important work will provide much needed improvement to roadway conditions that is integral to the safety of all who use these roadways. Separately, during the fall of 2025 the City will begin paving portions of 14 local streets as part of our annual use of state grant funds (LMIG) for use towards local transportation needs.
