NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE The City of Commerce has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 21.25% over the rollback rate. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Commerce Civic Center, 110 State Street, Commerce, GA 30529 on August 25, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. Times and places of additional public hearings will be at the Commerce Civic Center, located at 110 State Street, Commerce, GA 30529 on August 25, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. and on September 5, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 4.36 mills, an increase of 0.764 mills over the rollback rate. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 3.596. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $150,000 is approximately $45.84 and the proposed tax increase for nonhomestead property with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $53.48
